Parrots yap and frolic
With all the gay and jolly
Strutting in their cages,
Dancing for ages,
Their colorful fur,
For a glittery display to yearn,
While the crowds trigger,
an indiscriminate vigour.
Out comes a mirror,
Strikes a chilling terror,
You fool,
‘Don’t show a parrot a mirror.’
Flutters in confusion,
While the cage’s in fusion,
Its hide in polychrome,
Move in its eyes.
The jeer,
Conveyor belt of cheer,
Ends with a mismatched note,
It falls flat,
Possibility unknown,
Identity, does not compute.
Parrots forget you see,
Worries evaporated,
Bird-brain incorporated,
Over in a jiffy,
Back to the dizzy.
